In the little town of Parys we are very aware of our dependence on the glorious and ancient river that runs through our town. We depend on it not only for our drinking water, but our very livelihood is dependent on its attractions; here we use the river for recreation, for tourism, for its scenic value and for restoring our peace and tranquility. |
At SAVE we are very aware of the vulnerability of this magnificent source of life. The Vaal River is very vulnerable to exploitation for all sorts of commercial gain. It is especially vulnerable against people and industries who use it as a short cut for waste disposal. SAVE is also aware that this river cannot speak for itself, therefore we are committed to speak up on its behalf. Fortunately we have the law on our side. We will, therefore, endeavour to seek out and bring to book those that do not understand that polluting a water source makes you into a selfish monster and a criminal that deserves to go to jail. |
